1: WHEN SUNDAY COMES, JESUS HAS POWER OVER WHAT HAS ALREADY DIED
Lazarus
• Scripture: John 11:1–44
John 11:25
“I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.”
John 11:39
“Take away the stone.”
John 11:43
“Lazarus, come out!”
John 11:44
“Take off the grave clothes and let him go.”
• Truth: Jesus has power over what has already died
• Takeaway: Never bury what Jesus still has power to call back to life
2: WHEN SUNDAY COMES, DEATH DOES NOT GET THE LAST WORD
Jesus
• Scripture: Luke 24:1–8, Romans 8:11, Ephesians 1:19–20
Luke 24:5
“Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen!”
Romans 8:11
“And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.”
Ephesians 1:19–20
“I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms,”
• Truth: Death does not get the last word
• Takeaway: Because Jesus got up, nothing in your life has to remain under the power of death
3: WHEN SUNDAY COMES, THE CHURCH BECOMES A CARRIER OF RESURRECTION POWER
Eutychus
• Scripture: Acts 20:7–12
“Don’t be alarmed… He’s alive!”
• Truth: The church becomes a carrier of resurrection power
• Takeaway: Resurrection power was given to the church so we can carry the life of Jesus to people who have fallen
