Easter Sunday - April 5, 2026

Big Idea

• The resurrection is NOT just for then, it’s for now

• The same power that raised Jesus is available to the church today

• When Sunday comes, what was dead can live again

Point 1

Jesus has power over what has already died

John 11 — Lazarus

• Lazarus shows us a preview of resurrection power

• Jesus isn’t intimidated by dead places

• No delay is too long for the power of Christ

• Jesus does not just perform resurrection, He is the resurrection

• What others have given up on, Jesus can still call back to life

Takeaway

• Never bury what Jesus still has power to call back to life

Thoughts

• Jesus still speaks to dead things

• No grave is beyond His reach

• If Jesus is present, resurrection is possible

Point 2

Death does not get the last word

Luke 24 — Jesus

• The empty tomb is the center of our faith

• Jesus rose with all power

• Sin, hell, darkness, and death were defeated

• The resurrection proves that Jesus is alive and still working

• Because Jesus got up, nothing has to remain under the power of death

Takeaway

• Because Jesus got up, nothing in your life has to stay under the power of death

Thoughts:

• The tomb is empty

• Death lost its grip

• Jesus got the last word

Point 3

The church is called to carry resurrection power

Acts 20 — Eutychus

• Resurrection power did not stop at the empty tomb

• The power of Jesus flows through His church

• The church is called to go to fallen people with life and hope

• We are carriers of resurrection in a dying world

• The church must not just celebrate resurrection, but embody it

Takeaway

• Resurrection power was given to the church so we can carry the life of Jesus to people who have fallen
